Last week, 28-year-old Hong Kong model Abby Choi mysteriously went missing on Tuesday (21 February) and authorities found her body 3 days later.

Choi&rsquo;s murder case is no common murder as police revealed that it had been dismembered and was found in a fridge placed in a village house in the suburb of Tai Po. Aside from the gruesome find, police also found traces of human tissue in two pots of soup and minced human tissue scattered across the floor.
The murder case becomes more gruesome as authorities later discovered that her head had been severed and placed into one of two large soup pots filled with minced human remains. Authorities took the pots to the mortuary and forensic experts determined that there someone had attempted to bash her head.

Her complete body has yet to be found as there are still missing parts including her hands and torso while portions of her legs were found in the refrigerator.
Last Seen Picking Up Her Daughter

Choi was last seen around 2:15 pm in Fo Chun Road as she was about to go pick up her daughter from her ex-husband Alex Kwong. Later it was revealed that a man was captured on CCTV holding a large plastic box which was brought into a white seven-seater vehicle.
With suspicion of murder, the police had arrested the family members of Kwong and were on a hunt for Kwong who was suspected to be involved as the murder may be linked to a dispute worth over HK$100 million (~RM57.02 million). After the shocking news of her murder, another unidentified individual posted a HK$1 million (~RM5.7 million) reward for the arrest of the killer.
Police had interviewed a private driver who allegedly said that he was the last to see the model alive and authorities revealed that the person is Kwong&rsquo;s brother.
5 Arrested &amp; 3 Charged

Choi&rsquo;s ex-husband Alex Kwong, 28, had been arrested by authorities at Tung Chung pier on Lantau Island as he was allegedly attempting to flee with HK$4.5 million (~RM2.56 million) cash and luxury watches. Currently, he has been brought to the hospital after reportedly being unwell.

Meanwhile, his brother Anthony, 31 and his father Kwong Kau, 65 had been charged over the murder of Choi. His mother, Jenny Li, 63, had also been charged as she had obstructed the investigation of the case.
On Saturday (25 February) a total of 100 elite divers and police officers equipped with drones and search dogs had been busy searching a cemetery where Kwong&rsquo;s father and brother had been seen on Wednesday (22 February).
A 5th arrest was made on Sunday (26 February) which was a 47-year-old woman who goes by the surname of Ng. She is said to be a masseuse who has been in a relationship with Kwong&rsquo;s father for about six months and was suspected of renting a ground-floor flat of the village house and also a luxury flat in the Arch Sky Tower development in West Kowloon to hide the younger son.
&nbsp;The court case will be adjourned till 8 May for police to conduct further investigations into the murder.
Hopefully, justice will be served soon enough and hope that Choi&rsquo;s family will be at peace once the murder case is solved.

In his statement, Fadhil invoked the legacy of Anwar Ibrahim himself &mdash; who, as a student leader in the 1970s, led similar acts of protest. UMS: Burning Was &lsquo;Immature and Uncivilised&rsquo;

Coach Airways Reimagined: A Bold Fusion of Fashion, Flight and Retro-Futurism Lands In Melaka

Datin Vivy Sofinas Yusof and her husband, Datuk Fadzarudin Shah Anuar &mdash; co-founders of the once-celebrated fashion and e-commerce brands FashionValet and dUCk &mdash; are set to stand trial in 2026 for allegedly misappropriating RM8 million in investment funds. The funds, entrusted to their company by two government-linked investment giants &mdash; Khazanah Nasional Berhad and Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) &mdash; were meant to support and develop local entrepreneurship.
Instead, the high-profile couple is accused of transferring the RM8 million from FashionValet Sdn Bhd into a separate entity they also owned &mdash; 30 Maple Sdn Bhd &mdash; without obtaining approval from FashionValet&rsquo;s board of directors. The alleged financial misconduct is said to have taken place on 21 August 2018 at Public Bank&rsquo;s Bukit Damansara branch in Kuala Lumpur.
Trial Dates Set for 2026

After months of legal developments, the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court has now fixed 15 days for the full trial next year. Sessions Court Judge Rosli Ahmad confirmed the following dates:

<li>18&ndash;22 May 2026</li>
<li>8&ndash;12 June 2026</li>
</ul>
The next case mention is scheduled for 27 October 2025, allowing the defence team more time to examine forensic reports and prepare their arguments. According to Deputy Public Prosecutor Datuk Wan Shaharuddin Wan Ladin, the prosecution intends to call 26 witnesses to testify over the course of the trial.
Vivy and Fadzarudin, both aged 37, were not present during the recent case management hearing on 23 June 2025, as their legal counsel had secured an exemption from court attendance. The couple continues to be represented by lawyer M. Athimulan.
Pleading Not Guilty to CBT and Alternative Charge

The charges, first read in court on 5 December 2024, fall under Section 409 of the Penal Code, read in conjunction with Section 34, which pertains to criminal breach of trust (CBT) committed by a public servant or an individual in a position of trust. If found guilty, they face between two and 20 years&rsquo; imprisonment, whipping, and a fine.
Additionally, the couple faces an alternative charge under Section 403, also read with Section 34, for dishonestly misappropriating property belonging to the company. This charge carries a lighter penalty &mdash; a prison term ranging from six months to five years, and may also include caning and a fine upon conviction.
Both Vivy and Fadzarudin have pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Controversy Surrounding Internal Acquisition

The case has drawn significant public and media attention not only because of the accused&rsquo;s celebrity status, but also due to the complex financial transactions under scrutiny. In 2018, the same year Khazanah and PNB invested RM47 million into FashionValet, the company acquired 30 Maple Sdn Bhd &mdash; a firm wholly owned by Vivy and Fadzarudin &mdash; for a reported RM95 million.
The acquisition was made through the issuance of 851,686 new ordinary shares in FashionValet. According to filings with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), the internal valuation placed the value of the dUCk brand at RM68.8 million, with an additional RM21 million assigned as goodwill.
Although 30 Maple had posted profits of RM8.5 million in 2017 and RM7.7 million in 2018 &mdash; along with a RM10 million dividend payout &mdash; the timing and structure of the RM95 million acquisition deal sparked scepticism.
Critics argue that the founders effectively channelled public investment funds back into their personal company, raising ethical concerns over whether such internal transactions should have received greater scrutiny, especially given the involvement of taxpayer-linked capital.
From Digital Darlings to Legal Defendants

However, the collapse of FashionValet in 2023, after over a decade of operation, marked the beginning of a turning point for the couple&rsquo;s public image. The platform&rsquo;s sudden shutdown &mdash; despite years of funding and partnerships &mdash; led to renewed scrutiny over the company&rsquo;s financial management and use of public funds.
