For city dwellers in Malaysia, navigating the bustling urban lifestyle is a common challenge, with around 8 to 9 million residents in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor combined. While some are fortunate enough to own cars, dealing with daily traffic jams is an inevitable part of city life. On the other hand, many opt for public transport due to its convenience, despite occasional delays attributed to ongoing upgrades. Despite these challenges, the cost-effectiveness of public transport remains a significant advantage.
Exciting news awaits frequent public transport users as Prasarana, the operator of RapidKL trains and buses, has announced an update to their MyCity Pass. The aim is to encourage more people to embrace public transport in the Klang Valley. In a surprising move, RapidKL has reintroduced the MyCity pass for non-Malaysians, although Malaysian users will experience a price hike.
Do You Know What Is RapidKL&rsquo;s MyCity Pass?

The MyCity Pass offers unlimited rides on BRT, LRT, MRT, Monorail, and RapidKL buses, including MRT feeder bus services in the Klang Valley. Opting for the daily pass proves to be a cost-effective choice, often cheaper than the regular round-trip fare for most public transport journeys. Keep in mind that the pass excludes ERL (KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit) and KTM Komuter services.
The pass operates on a daily cycle and offers options for either a 1-day or 3-day duration. Activation requires a Touch 'n Go card (TNG Card), which serves as both the means of payment and the key to tapping in and out of the train station.
The MyCity Pass by RapidKL was initially launched in 2019 with prices set at RM15 for a 1-day pass and RM45 for a 3-day pass. This initiative aimed to encourage the use of public transportation, particularly during the challenging times of the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic. During this period, the price was further reduced to RM5 per day. Initially exclusive to Malaysians, commuters were required to present their identification cards (IC) to purchase the pass. An alternative option available at that time was the My50 Pass, offering unlimited rides for an entire month, catering to frequent public transport users.
How Do We Purchase &amp; Activate The MyCity Pass?

If you're keen on getting the pass, you'll need a TNG card, available for just RM10 at any RapidKL customer service office or convenience store. Moreover, if you own a TNG Charm or have MyKad with an embedded TNG feature, you can use either as your pass or identification.
The MyCity pass activation is available at various customer service counters, including those in LRT, MRT, Monorail, and BRT stations, as well as designated bus hub stations like Chow Kit, Pasar Seni, Section 2 Shah Alam, Greenwood, Sri Nilam, KLCC, Pearl Point, Puchong Utama, and Sunway Pyramid.

Effective today (8 March), the MyCity Pass will be priced at RM6 per day for Malaysian users, while the cost of the 3-day MyCity pass for locals will remain unchanged at RM15. For non-Malaysians, the MyCity Pass is available at RM10 for a one-day pass or RM25 for a 3-day pass.
However, it's important to note that a minimum balance of RM5 must be maintained on your Touch 'n Go (TNG) card for pass usage. Therefore, for those activating the daily pass, a minimum balance of RM11 on the card is required before activation. Foreigners, on the other hand, must maintain a minimum balance of RM15 on their cards to activate their passes.
Cashless Payments Options To Be Expanded To Buses

Additionally, Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced that Prasarana plans to broaden the range of cashless payment methods available for Rapid KL Bus, LRT, and MRT services. Currently, the bus only accepts payments via Touch 'n Go cards, limiting options for both locals and tourists. Loke stated that the upcoming open payment system will enable the use of debit cards, credit cards, and more. The integration is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2024.
On a positive note, the reintroduction of the MyCity Pass for foreigners by RapidKL hints at a potential uplift in Malaysia's tourism industry. This move not only has the potential to stimulate the economy but also encourages increased usage of public transport among Malaysians, offering a promising prospect for alleviating traffic congestion in the city.

Baekhyun’s ‘Reverie’ World Tour Is Coming to KL and Singapore!

After ten years of making their mark on the Malaysian music scene &mdash; and in the playlists of countless fans across the region &mdash; pop-rock band Insomniacks are ready to take the stage for their first-ever solo concert. Titled Echoes of a Dream: Insomniacks Live in Concert, the event marks a significant milestone for the beloved group.

Insomniacks is a Malaysian pop-rock band that has rapidly emerged as one of the country's most beloved music acts, known for their emotionally charged lyrics, catchy melodies, and youthful energy. Formed in 2015, the band first gained attention by uploading cover songs on YouTube, showcasing their raw talent and chemistry. It wasn&rsquo;t long before they transitioned into crafting their own original sound, debuting with the heartfelt single &ldquo;Selalu&rdquo; in 2017 &mdash; a song that resonated deeply with listeners and was featured on the Astro Ria drama My Coffee Prince.

With multiple radio hits under their belt, including fan-favorites like &ldquo;Igauan Malam&rdquo;, &ldquo;Reminisensi&rdquo;, and &ldquo;Kepulanganmu&rdquo;, the band&rsquo;s momentum shows no signs of slowing down. Today, the band comprises three members: frontman and lead guitarist Iqie (Syed Mir Iqbal), bassist and vocalist Wan Arif Iskandar, and rhythm guitarist and vocalist Danial Lee Hashim. Previously a quartet, drummer Gavin Wong departed the group in 2022.

More than a decade since audiences were first dazzled by sleight of hand and cinematic spectacle in Now You See Me, the franchise is poised for a thrilling return. The third instalment, Now You See Me: Now You Don&rsquo;t, promises the most audacious heist yet &mdash; blending the original gang of illusionists with a new wave of rising stars in a high-stakes battle against a dangerous criminal organisation.
The Original Horsemen Saddle Up Again

The film marks the long-awaited reunion of the core cast that captivated fans in the first instalment. Jesse Eisenberg returns as the cerebral and enigmatic J. With the addition of Pike and the blending of old and new talent, Now You See Me: Now You Don&rsquo;t is setting the stage for the series&rsquo; most complex battle yet.

In the heart of New York City&rsquo;s Times Square, a digital billboard teased fans with the phrase &ldquo;Now You See Me,&rdquo; accompanied by a countdown and a phone number. As the timer hit zero, the display changed to reveal &ldquo;Now You Don&rsquo;t&rdquo; &mdash; and fans who had texted in received instant digital cash giveaways totalling $250,000, as well as exclusive access to the official trailer.
Newcomers Greenblatt, Smith, and Sessa appeared in person to help carry out what Lionsgate dubbed a visual &ldquo;heist,&rdquo; adding to the fanfare and bringing the energy of the franchise&rsquo;s big-screen illusions to real life. It was a fittingly dramatic entrance for a film built on misdirection and flair.
Behind the Curtain: Direction, Production, and the Future
