<p>Let's face it, there are two things Malaysians never fail to get hyped about; food and concerts.</p>
<p>With an exciting lineup of concerts set to rock Malaysia in the coming months and a slew of rave festivals lighting up the scene, there's no shortage of entertainment. But if we're honing in on one concert that's truly a standout, it's none other than Good Vibes Festival (GVF). For years, GVF has been a staple in our Malaysian event calendar, drawing crowds and creating unforgettable memories.</p>

<p>The 2023 edition of the festival, which celebrated its tenth anniversary, was notable not only for its stellar lineup but also for a significant incident involving British band The 1975. The event saw frontman Matty Healy and bass guitarist Ross MacDonald at the centre of a widely discussed controversy.</p>

<p>Following last year's debacle, GVF and its organizer, Future Sound Asia, were severely impacted by the incident. They even took legal action, filing a lawsuit amounting to RM12.3 million against the band in a bid to recoup damages inflicted on the festival. However, it appears that the company is now turning over a new leaf, as they've just issued a recent announcement.</p>

<p>Yesterday (5 May), GVF officially announced the highly anticipated return of the festival for 2024, quelling rumours of a hiatus following the previous year's incident. The announcement revealed that this year's event will once again grace the hills of Genting, slated for 20th and 21st July 2024 at Resorts World Awana (GHPO Bus Parking).</p>
<p>Unsurprisingly, the news ignited widespread excitement among music enthusiasts nationwide, signalling the triumphant comeback of the beloved local music festival despite the setbacks of the past year. Notably, the buzz extended beyond just fans, with celebrities and singers such as Angel from DOLLA, Claudia Tan, Talitha Tan, and Hunny Madu expressing their elation for the festival's return.</p>
<p>Furthermore, netizens expressed hopes for a fresh lineup of artists alongside beloved favourites like The Strokes, anticipating an electrifying mix of new talent and established acts.</p>

<p>While the news of GVF's comeback has stirred excitement among some, particularly those who have missed the festival in recent years, scepticism lingers regarding the festival's ability to rebound successfully following the infamous incident involving Matty Healy last year.</p>
<p>One of the major controversies stems from allegations that Future Sound Asia failed to issue refunds for tickets to the 2023 edition of the festival, which was abruptly cancelled on its opening day due to Matty Healy's controversial behaviour. This included his on-stage kiss with a band member and his dissemination of hate speech concerning Malaysia's LGBTQ laws.</p>

<p>If we were to look at the poster for We The Fest 2024 reveals an impressive lineup featuring artists like Russ, Joji, BIBI, Henry Moodie, and Turnstile. However, as for GVF's lineup, details remain scarce. The only clue thus far comes from GVF's official post, which prominently features Peggy Gou, hinting at her potential inclusion in the festival lineup, especially as her popular track "(It Goes Like) Nanana &ndash; Edit" is highlighted.</p>
<p>As we eagerly anticipate the official lineup announcement, which is anticipated to drop within the next couple of weeks based on past trends, all we can do is wait in anticipation.</p>
