Pulseless VT occurs when the heart's ventricles contract too quickly, preventing blood from filling them. Without blood flow, the pulse stops. Typically, a healthy adult's heart beats at 60 to 100 beats per minute (bpm), but during VF, the heartbeat becomes irregular or 'chaotic.'
What Is The Best Way To Treat Irregular Heartbeats?

Dr. Malar explained that when the heart pumps irregularly, the best treatment is 'shock delivery' with a defibrillator. However, if a defibrillator isn't available, emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) must be performed immediately.
She noted that a heart experiencing VF or pulseless VT will eventually progress to a state where there is no pulse, known as pulseless electrical activity (PEA) or asystole, where the heart stops contracting. &nbsp;After Zhang Zhi Jie collapsed, his body stiffened, indicating that his heart had entered the asystole phase.
Hypokalemia &amp; Hypothermia Among The Causes Of PEA

She noted that hypokalemia can be caused by excessive sweating. Other factors that can lead to PEA include hypothermia (the body being too cold) and hypoglycemia (low blood sugar levels).
According to Dr. Malar, badminton players often experience electrolyte imbalances, which can lead to heart problems. This observation is based on her personal experience, noting that many players have abnormal mineral salt levels in their bodies.
She emphasized that the most crucial aspect in such incidents is to have an accurate and quick response with CPR if a defibrillator is not available.
How Does One Perform CPR? 
When it comes to performing CPR, it&rsquo;s always best to undergo proper training with the Malaysian Red Crescent. Attempting to do it &ldquo;as seen on TV&rdquo; is not advisable.

Regarding concerns about legal repercussions for performing CPR incorrectly, she reassured that legal protections are in place.

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is currently investigating the incident and plans to update their emergency response protocols to better handle similar situations in the future.
&ldquo;According to the guidelines, the tournament doctor, under the direction of the referee, has the responsibility to respond to emergencies on court, including suspected cardiac arrest and in this scenario, to provide intervention until proper medical services can be available (for example ambulance),&rdquo; said the BWF in a statement.
&ldquo;When implementing these guidelines, it is reinforced that all personnel need to be ready at all times to respond to all required medical interventions, including emergencies as soon as possible.
&ldquo;Following the completion of our review, we will determine whether specific aspects of these guidelines need to be changed.&rdquo;

The new initiative, announced by Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek, will begin with the 2025 STPM cohort and benefit the 18 students recognised as the nation&rsquo;s top performers.
The sponsorship programme, which comes in the form of full tuition fee coverage, reflects the commitment of public universities to support outstanding students and ensure they have greater access to higher education opportunities.
Speaking during the STPM Top Students, Malaysian University English Test (MUET) and Malay Language Proficiency Certificate for Foreign Nationals awards ceremony, Fadhlina described the initiative as an important step towards strengthening Malaysia&rsquo;s Form Six ecosystem.
Encouraging More Students To Choose Form Six

According to Fadhlina, every public university will sponsor at least one of the top STPM students by covering their undergraduate tuition fees.

STPM 2025 Records Stronger Results

The number represents 3.5 per cent of the 40,199 candidates who registered for the examination.
Overall performance also improved, with Malaysia&rsquo;s national CGPA rising from 2.85 in 2024 to 2.88 in 2025 &mdash; the highest national average ever recorded for the examination.
Meanwhile, the number of students obtaining five As increased from 53 in 2024 to 60 in 2025, while those earning four As rose from 1,228 to 1,285 candidates.
The percentage of candidates achieving a full pass in four or five subjects also increased, reaching 77.64 per cent compared to 76.55 per cent the previous year.
Recognising Excellence Across Different Categories

This year&rsquo;s 18 top national achievers represent a diverse group of students from various backgrounds.

Originally, 5SOS was only scheduled to perform at Kuala Lumpur's Unifi Arena on 17 November 2026.
However, after tickets sold out almost immediately, organisers confirmed an additional Malaysian concert on 4 December 2026, giving fans another opportunity to catch the band live.
Both shows will take place at Unifi Arena, formerly known as Axiata Arena, with performances scheduled to begin at 8pm.

Good news for Malaysians who still rely on cash for their daily spending. Starting 1 July 2026, bank customers will no longer have to pay the RM1 fee when withdrawing money from another bank&rsquo;s ATM or Smart Recycler Machine (SRM), making cash withdrawals more convenient and affordable across the country.
The initiative, announced by Malaysia&rsquo;s banking industry in collaboration with Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet), means debit cardholders can enjoy unlimited free interbank cash withdrawals at more than 14,000 ATMs and SRMs nationwide.
No More RM1 Charge For Interbank Withdrawals

Previously, customers who withdrew cash from an ATM belonging to a different bank than the one that issued their debit card would be charged an RM1 fee for every transaction.
From 1 July onwards, that charge will be removed completely. Regardless of which participating bank issued the debit card, customers will be able to withdraw cash from any participating ATM or SRM across Malaysia without paying an additional fee.
The waiver applies to all ATMs and Smart Recycler Machines operated by banks nationwide, giving users greater flexibility to use whichever machine is most convenient.
Unlimited Free Withdrawals Across More Than 14,000 Machines
The new initiative will provide debit cardholders with unlimited fee-free withdrawals through a network of over 14,000 banking machines across the country.
This means consumers no longer need to search for their own bank&rsquo;s ATM simply to avoid paying extra charges. Whether they are travelling, working in another town or simply using the nearest available machine, they can access their money without worrying about additional costs.
The move is expected to make everyday banking more accessible, especially for those who frequently withdraw cash.

Anthropic has described Fable 5 as one of its safest and most capable AI models, with built-in safeguards designed to prevent misuse in sensitive areas such as cyberattacks and biological research.
Why Has The US Government Stepped In?

According to Anthropic, the US government issued an export control directive requiring the company to suspend access to Claude Fable 5 and Claude Mythos 5 for foreign nationals due to national security concerns.

In AI terms, jailbreaking refers to techniques that bypass safety restrictions and make the system produce responses it was originally designed to block.
