Recently, Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook announced that the government is working on drafting laws, including fines, to address men who deliberately use women's coaches. This move comes in response to incidents where men have intentionally entered and used the women-only coaches provided by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) and Mass Rapid Transit (MRT).
"We are drafting an appropriate fine for these men who refuse to listen," he stated, as quoted by Sinar Harian. However, Anthony clarified that there are currently no legal provisions in place regarding this issue.
Periodic Monitoring Will Be Conducted

For the time being, Anthony, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Seremban, explained that regular monitoring by auxiliary police will be conducted to prevent men from entering the women-only coaches.
"Men should respect these spaces. The women's coaches are intended to ensure the safety, comfort, and confidence of female passengers using public transport," he stated.
Proposed Legal Form Against Stubborn Men
Earlier, the Persatuan Wanita Unity Malaysia (PERWIM) called on the government to establish a specific law to take action against men who misuse or enter women-only coaches.

PERWIM Chairman Ema Syuhaili Sukor emphasized that such measures are crucial to ensure male passengers adhere to the rules and to protect female passengers from potential harassment by those who may seek to exploit the situation.
Ema also suggested that KTMB, in particular, should consider adding more 'emergency lanes' in commuter coaches to provide immediate assistance in case of any unwanted incidents.
In case you didn&rsquo;t know, the women-only coach is typically located in the middle of the train and marked with a large pink sticker. It is designated for female passengers of all ages, although boys aged 12 and under may also use the coach if accompanied by a female guardian.
It's crucial to prioritize the safety of women, especially given the frequent misuse of women-only coaches by men who disregard the clearly marked signs and labels. With the implementation of this new law, we hope to see a reduction in conflicts between men and women in these coaches.

In response to mounting public outrage, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) issued a cease-and-desist order against AirAsia MOVE, effectively suspending the platform&rsquo;s operations in the country. According to AirAsia MOVE&rsquo;s Chief Executive Officer Nadia Omer, the discrepancies were caused by a technical issue&mdash;specifically, a temporary data synchronisation error with the platform&rsquo;s flight pricing partners.
&ldquo;This technical discrepancy was not isolated to MOVE,&rdquo; Omer said in an official statement. &ldquo;Other booking platforms such as Agoda, Kiwi.com, and Traveloka were also affected by the same pricing issue.&rdquo;
She added that as soon as the issue was identified, AirAsia MOVE took immediate corrective action and reported the matter to its third-party pricing provider for resolution. In addition, the platform has implemented new safeguards to ensure similar issues do not occur in future.
Platform Claims Full Compliance and Cooperation

Jordan, who has been backpacking solo through Southeast Asia and the Mediterranean for the past 18 months while working remotely for a US-based company, had arrived in Malaysia from Vietnam on 17 May. He was believed to be staying at the Robertson Residences in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.
Family Raises Alarm After Uncharacteristic Silence
His mother, Leanne Burnett, became alarmed when she didn&rsquo;t hear from him the following day, something she describes as completely out of character. The two last spoke on Monday, 26 May, with no indication of anything amiss.
&ldquo;He always checks in regularly because he knows how worried we get,&rdquo; she told the Daily Mail. &ldquo;If he had lost his phone or laptop, he knows my number by heart. He&rsquo;d go to a hotel or an internet caf&eacute; to get in touch. The silence is just not like him.&rdquo;

&ldquo;Tracking him throughout the day didn&rsquo;t help &mdash; the location never changed. It was like he just disappeared,&rdquo; she added. &ldquo;We have no idea what has happened, but something is seriously wrong.&rdquo;
Efforts to Locate Jordan Intensify

&ldquo;We will proceed to refund the payment directly to the buyer's account, as we have access to the relevant transaction details through our TikTok Shop system.&rdquo;
The team will contact affected buyers to confirm their email and bank account information to ensure a smooth and accurate refund process.
