In Malaysia, there has been a troubling rise in illegal street racing, often fuelled by a lack of proper education and, at times, parental guidance. Many young individuals fall into these trends in an attempt to "fit in."
These illegal racers, known as Mat Rempits, have gained notoriety not only for their reckless stunts but also for significantly contributing to road fatalities&mdash;all for a brief moment of adrenaline.

Recently, a frustrated father, exhausted by his son's refusal to abandon the dangerous Mat Rempit lifestyle, took extreme action to safeguard his child from a potential early demise. It&rsquo;s a clear reminder that a father&rsquo;s love is a force not to be underestimated.

In a 46-second TikTok video shared by @kajolmarey01, a man is seen filming a motorbike engulfed in flames. At the time of writing, the video has garnered over 2 million views. The man, identified as Kajol, expressed his deep frustration with his son's persistent defiance of warnings about the dangers of being a Mat Rempit.
&ldquo;I burned his motorcycle. It&rsquo;s easier not to have a motorcycle. If he has one, he turns into a ghost&hellip; a devil!&rdquo; Kajol said, spitting on the bike in disgust. He further explained how the motorcycle had led many teenagers astray, causing them to rebel and stay out late. He ended the video with a firm statement: &ldquo;Before you (my son) lose your life at the hands of others or on the road, let me kill you (motorbike) first. It&rsquo;s better that I burn you first.&rdquo;
Took The Time To Explain His Actions 
The next day (19 Sept), Kajol posted a follow-up video on TikTok, in which he apologized for his emotional outburst in the now-viral clip. Despite expressing regret for his seemingly rash actions, he firmly stood by his decision to burn his son&rsquo;s motorcycle, explaining that it was the only way he could teach his son a valuable lesson.

&ldquo;For me, it&rsquo;s best that I sacrifice the motorbike he used to go to school. But school isn&rsquo;t the only thing he&rsquo;s using the bike for.&rdquo;
Kajol emphasized his two greatest fears: receiving a call from the police saying his son had been arrested for mat rempit activities, or worse, a call informing him of his son&rsquo;s death. These fears were the driving force behind his decision to burn the motorcycle, hoping it would serve as a serious life lesson. Despite everything, he expressed that he still loves his son and hopes that the mat rempit culture and illegal racing will eventually come to an end.
Netizens Had Mixed Reactions But Felt The Pain Of The Father
Scrolling through the comments on the two videos, there was a mixed reaction from netizens regarding Kajol's actions. Despite burning the bike, many supported his decision, agreeing that it was one way to teach his son a lesson about becoming a mat rempit.
One netizen, however, pointed out that burning the bike might have been excessive, suggesting he could have sold it instead. Still, they noted that seeing the bike in flames might leave a lasting impression on his son, potentially influencing him to improve his behaviour in the future.
