The Matcha Strawberry experience is also extending beyond university campuses through special caf&eacute; collaborations with OH CHA Matcha and Randev&uacute; Coffee. These collaborations add another way for matcha fans to get involved with the campaign while exploring the popular matcha trend in a caf&eacute; setting.
Hun Haqeem Is Joining The Roadshow

Adding to the excitement, Malaysian actor Hun Haqeem will be making special appearances at two of the upcoming university stops.
Known for his roles in popular Malaysian dramas and his growing presence in the local entertainment scene, Hun Haqeem has become a familiar face among younger audiences. His appearances are set to give students at Universiti Malaya (UM) and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam the chance to meet the actor and potentially snap a photo with him.
Hun Haqeem will be at UM on 6 October and UiTM Shah Alam on 7 October, so students at both campuses will have an extra reason to drop by the Cornetto Matcha Strawberry roadshow.
Cornetto Matcha Strawberry University Roadshow Schedule
The roadshow will continue visiting selected public and private universities across the Klang Valley over the coming weeks.

Motorists in Malaysia can no longer use MyEG or Zetrix AI for certain JPJ payment services after the Road Transport Department (JPJ) suspended both companies as its collection agents effective 5 October 2026.
The suspension follows an outstanding RM314 million in government revenue collected by MyEG Sdn Bhd and Zetrix AI Bhd that had not been transferred to the Ministry of Transport&rsquo;s (MOT) main revenue account.
However, Transport Minister Anthony Loke has assured motorists that the suspension will not affect the delivery of JPJ services, with alternative channels still available for renewing driving licences and road tax, paying summonses and handling other JPJ-related transactions.
Why Did JPJ Suspend MyEG And Zetrix AI?
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/2077c722e77adc4633d0f23523cefc9e44bd8d42ca9b6d9f355107988092c2bc" />
According to Loke, the RM314 million in outstanding government revenue accumulated between 19 May and 30 September 2026.
The minister also clarified that the outstanding amount did not accumulate over three years, as had been reported in some quarters. Instead, the current RM314 million in arrears began building up in May this year.
Prior to the suspension, MOT and JPJ had taken several steps to recover the outstanding revenue. These included issuing 35 reminder notices, setting deadlines for payment and holding four engagement sessions with the companies and other relevant stakeholders, including the Ministry of Finance.
The companies had also submitted a post-dated cheque worth RM231 million on 21 August, intended to settle the amount owed at that time. However, when the cheque was presented on 30 September, it was not processed by the bank following instructions from the company.
As a result, JPJ proceeded with the suspension of MyEG and Zetrix AI's services from 12.01am on 5 October.
Loke said the suspension will remain in place until the full outstanding amount has been settled, after which the government will consider whether the services should resume. The government is also preparing to take legal action to recover the full RM314 million.
Can You Still Renew Your Road Tax And Driving Licence?
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/6e125374d56e2c9fa43ddb2455b04cb34d1a3bc7947166e4385c46efa32015cd" />
Yes you can but not via the systems. The suspension of MyEG and Zetrix AI does not mean that Malaysians can no longer renew their road tax or driving licences.
Motorists can continue using official JPJ channels, including the MyJPJ app, JPJ Public Portal, physical JPJ counters and JPJ kiosks.
This means motorists who normally rely on MyEG for routine transactions will need to switch to one of these alternative platforms while the suspension remains in place.
For those who prefer handling their transactions digitally, the MyJPJ application and JPJ Public Portal provide alternatives without requiring a visit to a physical counter.
Alternative Ways To Pay JPJ Summonses
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/3ccf3850caeffca51d2ba84b9c47b3f3b4845f23b3babe2c589bd510a7eb0cba" />
The suspension also affects payment services provided through MyEG and Zetrix AI, but JPJ summonses can still be paid through other official channels.
For non-Malaysians travelling through the Malaysia-Singapore border, JPJ is also providing additional assistance through mobile counters in Johor.
The Mobile JPJ Counters at Kompleks Sultan Abu Bakar and Bangunan Sultan Iskandar will operate from 8am to 10pm, allowing non-Malaysians to settle traffic summonses at the country's main southern entry points.
KPP01 Theory Test Services Continue
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/ca4bb7a7e9f54a820309e5f250962b402ebfa0a24400cf423235d117925d78f8" />
The changes also cover the computerised KPP01 Theory Test for driving licence candidates.
Instead of relying on centres previously operated through MyEG, candidates can now take the computerised theory test directly through 85 approved driving institutes authorised by JPJ.
This means candidates can continue with their driving licence process despite the suspension of MyEG and Zetrix AI's services.
Government To Recover RM314 Million
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/c429995b99e50210d44b9b64ab98c9da6b4c01fb9cb45f6aebb6c89ed7b8e7d6" />
Loke has stressed that MyEG and Zetrix AI acted as collection agents and that the money collected through these services belongs to the government.
The government therefore intends to recover the full RM314 million through appropriate legal action. Loke also dismissed claims that the suspension was politically motivated, saying the decision was based on the outstanding government revenue and the companies' failure to fulfil their obligations.
He added that the government has provisions to terminate the agreement if necessary and that there would be no question of compensation if the contract is ended due to non-compliance.
Questions Raised Over Government Oversight
Beyond the immediate impact on JPJ services, the RM314 million arrears have also raised questions about financial controls and government oversight.
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) said the issue goes beyond the outstanding payment itself, questioning how such a large amount could accumulate despite repeated reminders and engagement sessions.
The PAC has also raised concerns about the monitoring mechanisms in place for third-party collection agents and whether the government's interests and public funds were sufficiently protected.
Malaysia Corruption Watch similarly called for a transparent review of the collection and remittance process, particularly given the 35 reminder notices and the RM231 million cheque that was not processed.
For motorists, however, the immediate takeaway is simple: MyEG and Zetrix AI are no longer available for JPJ payment services, but road tax renewals, driving licence renewals, summons payments and other JPJ-related transactions can still be carried out through alternative official channels.

One less option for motorists — but there are still other ways to get it done.

No More MyEG For JPJ Payments: Here’s How To Renew Your Licence And Road Tax

Everyone knows that Formula 1 drivers are some of the ultimate athletes in motorsport. Behind the wheel of an F1 car travelling at more than 300km/h, drivers need exceptional stamina, strength, concentration and mental resilience to cope with the physical demands of a Grand Prix.
And then there is everyone&rsquo;s favourite Finnish racing driver, Valtteri Bottas, who appears to be taking his fitness routine to another level ahead of this weekend&rsquo;s Singapore Grand Prix.
Instead of taking the usual flight or travelling by car with the rest of the F1 paddock, the 37-year-old Cadillac Formula 1 driver has decided to cycle around 350km from Sepang, Malaysia, to Singapore.
Yes, you read that right. After finishing his Malaysian Grand Prix weekend early, Bottas swapped four wheels for two and began a multi-day cycling adventure towards the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
From Sepang To Singapore On Two Wheels
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/a141967e4f46d83565cb855430ad163c653fedf61354945b54f703f72ead4609" />
Bottas began his journey on Sunday evening, just hours after retiring from the Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang International Circuit.
The 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix was held in Malaysia as a one-off replacement for the original Bahrain race, bringing F1 back to Sepang for the first time since 2017. However, Bottas' race was unfortunately cut short on Lap 9.
The Cadillac driver had opted to start on slick tyres despite the wet conditions, but the gamble failed to pay off when he spun into the gravel and was forced to retire.
Rather than heading straight to the airport for the short journey to Singapore, Bottas got on his gravel bike and began riding south.
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/0989ff8ab4ea84b2dcea621ca6e83a5f9d89f323c40c6a235138ab86963b7954" />
His first recorded stage covered 56.6km in just over two hours, with his cycling activity labelled "Malaysia to Singapore Day 1" on Strava. He travelled from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport area towards Port Dickson, with parts of the route taking him through gravel tracks and rural areas.
The following day, Bottas reportedly covered another 161.91km over nearly six hours, putting a significant portion of the 350km journey behind him.
He is expected to complete the trip over three days and arrive in Singapore in time for his mandatory media commitments on Thursday, ahead of practice for the Singapore Grand Prix on Friday.

While most F1 drivers will be travelling between the two countries by plane, Bottas has been spotted cycling through Malaysia, including some rather unusual routes.
One video shared by Bottas showed him riding through a dark, narrow path with only the light from his bicycle illuminating the way ahead. The route appeared to pass through a palm oil plantation, prompting plenty of reactions from Malaysian social media users.
Other motorists and cyclists have also reported spotting the F1 driver on the road.
One sighting showed Bottas riding through the Sungei Udang area in Melaka, roughly 245km from Singapore. He was also spotted riding alongside another cyclist, believed to be his partner and professional cyclist Tiffany Cromwell.
For many Malaysians, seeing an F1 driver casually cycling through rural roads and plantations at night is certainly not something you see every day.
Cycling Is A Serious Part Of Bottas' Life
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/e788adaa4b6c68939c67935a16fd681d1211aea2dabcfa34d1d3c97525c0d879" />
While the journey might sound extreme to the average person, cycling is far from a random hobby for Bottas.
The Finnish driver has developed a strong passion for cycling and gravel racing over the years, regularly using long-distance rides as part of his physical conditioning as well as a way to unwind away from Formula 1.
Bottas has competed in several high-level gravel events and has even achieved podium finishes at races such as SBT Gravel and Belgium Waffle Ride. He is also closely involved with FNLD GRVL, a gravel cycling event held in his native Finland.
Earlier this year, Bottas also qualified for the UCI Gravel World Championships after finishing fifth in his age group at a qualifying event in the Czech Republic. Unfortunately, the World Championships clash with the Singapore Grand Prix, meaning he will not be able to compete.
His partner, Tiffany Cromwell, is also an accomplished professional road and gravel cyclist, making cycling a shared passion for the couple.
"When I Miss Racing, Then I Race On My Bicycle"
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/ed66044d0d383b5bdd22ecec04b73683c87c43bc428cebcbd5a1593e1e228077" />
For Bottas, cycling is not simply another way to stay fit during the F1 season.
He has previously explained that getting on a bike helps him both physically and mentally, describing it as a way to clear his head and relieve stress.
&ldquo;When I&rsquo;m on my bike, I gain cardio, but I also use the bike almost like a stress release,&rdquo; Bottas has said.
He also sees cycling as another way to challenge himself when he is away from the F1 cockpit.
In another interview, he explained his appreciation for cycling by pointing out that, unlike a racing car, the cyclist is the engine and the machine.
That mindset perhaps explains why a 350km journey between two Grands Prix does not seem quite as ridiculous to Bottas as it might to everyone else.
A Different Kind Of Reset Before Singapore
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/c02dd9659ca6a9162fa77bb17aafce62c377f3818ef000d7ffc4b8618f93bf9f" />
Bottas' unusual journey comes after a difficult start to his return to full-time Formula 1 racing.
After spending the 2025 season as a reserve driver, he returned to the grid in 2026 with the new Cadillac F1 team alongside Sergio Perez. However, the team's debut season has been challenging, with Cadillac yet to score a championship point.
Bottas' difficult weekend in Malaysia continued that run of form, with his race ending after just nine laps following his gamble on slick tyres.
Now, instead of simply moving from one hotel to another, he is getting several hundred kilometres of cycling into his legs before arriving at one of the most physically demanding races on the F1 calendar.
The Singapore Grand Prix is known for its heat, humidity and demanding Marina Bay Street Circuit, with drivers facing a long night race under the lights.
Whether the 350km ride will leave Bottas refreshed or completely exhausted remains to be seen.
But one thing is certain: while the rest of the F1 paddock is taking the conventional route from Malaysia to Singapore, Valtteri Bottas is quite literally taking the long way there.

Valtteri Bottas Is Cycling 350km From Sepang To Singapore For The F1 Grand Prix

Malaysia could be on course for a potential return to the Formula 1 calendar, with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim confirming that discussions are already under way following the successful return of F1 to the Sepang International Circuit (SIC).
The 2026 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, held at Sepang from 2 to 4 October, marked the first Formula 1 race at the Malaysian circuit since 2017. Although the event was originally scheduled to take place in Bahrain, security concerns linked to the conflict in the Middle East led to the race being relocated to Malaysia as a one-off event.
The strong response from Malaysian fans has now reignited hopes of seeing the Malaysian Grand Prix return as a permanent F1 fixture. However, significant financial and logistical considerations will need to be addressed before Malaysia can make a decision.
Malaysia Has Started Discussions To Bring F1 Back
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/ca80215e847563ecd8d5306c03a69e94431295e06fa7f69f4ddfab3cf21249f8" />
Speaking during the Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang, Anwar confirmed that the government is discussing the possibility of bringing Formula 1 back to Malaysia.
The Prime Minister said discussions had been opened with F1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali, although he stressed that the process remains at an early stage.
Anwar also discussed the possibility directly with Sky Sports commentator Martin Brundle while at the circuit. When asked about Malaysia potentially returning to the F1 calendar, he said the government was looking forward to it and that discussions were already taking place.
In a separate Facebook post, Anwar said any potential return would require careful planning. The F1 calendar is already heavily packed, with existing host countries tied to contractual commitments, meaning Malaysia would also need to secure an available slot.
The matter is expected to be brought to the Cabinet for further consideration, including Malaysia's ability to host the event, the financial commitment involved and the potential economic and social benefits for the country.
RM300 Million A Year Needed For A Permanent F1 Return
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/58789f6dc04acc1bb1279f1cea011fa045483634973d3e48b4f86e903f99f958" />
One of the biggest challenges facing a permanent F1 return to Malaysia is the cost.
Sepang International Circuit CEO Azhan Shafriman Hanif has previously estimated that Malaysia would need to spend at least RM300 million a year to secure a regular place on the Formula 1 calendar. This figure relates to the hosting rights and does not necessarily include all the additional costs associated with preparing and staging the race locally.
That is considerably higher than the estimated RM10 million to RM16 million Malaysia spent on hosting the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix as a replacement venue. The difference was possible because Bahrain had already covered the major hosting costs for its race.
This means Malaysia's successful one-off event does not necessarily indicate that a permanent return would be financially straightforward.
Malaysia previously stopped hosting F1 in 2017 partly because of rising hosting and licensing costs, making the financial question particularly important as the government considers another long-term commitment.
Sepang Says It Is Ready To Host F1 Again
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/d7b11d143ba6db83e7f0ab4d5fcc35c77ffe08936aa4a21e785d31b01de7e754" />
Despite the financial hurdle, Malaysia already has the infrastructure and experience needed to host a Formula 1 race.
Motorsports Association of Malaysia (MAM) president Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir said Sepang International Circuit remains capable of hosting F1, with its previous experience in organising the event providing a strong foundation.
Mokhzani said the final decision would ultimately depend on the government and whether the economic impact and multiplier effect of hosting F1 could justify the investment.
He also proposed a possible five-year &ldquo;3+2&rdquo; arrangement, where Malaysia would initially commit to three years before having the option to extend the agreement for another two. Such a structure could provide greater certainty for organisers, fans and international visitors.
F1 Could Bring Wider Economic Benefits To Malaysia
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/f5b6df394509d6c012c74a958d7c65bda729c54bec8e75cd35e1334a99101810" />
Beyond the race itself, supporters of an F1 return argue that the event could generate benefits for businesses and the wider Malaysian tourism industry.
International visitors attending the race could contribute to the economy through spending on hotels, restaurants, transport, shopping and tourism activities in Kuala Lumpur and other parts of the country.
The 2026 event also provided opportunities for local businesses. Around 40 local traders participated in the Karnival Litar Rasa MADANI at the G Hillstand, giving food and beverage vendors the opportunity to benefit from the large crowds at Sepang.
Anwar highlighted the initiative as an example of how major international events could create opportunities for local traders while giving spectators access to Malaysian food and businesses.
Strong Fan Response Shows Malaysians Still Want F1
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/329afca456de8a59c0fc4d1a3094f15b6d95f236dec51609a052c432e1519ab8" />
The atmosphere surrounding F1's return to Sepang also demonstrated that interest in the sport remains strong after a nine-year absence.
Reports indicated that around 105,000 tickets were sold for the 2026 event, while thousands of fans attended despite heavy rain delaying the race.
Anwar described the return as a meaningful occasion for motorsport fans around the world, praising the drivers and teams for delivering an exciting race. He also congratulated Max Verstappen, Kimi Antonelli, Lewis Hamilton and Red Bull Racing following the event.
The Prime Minister's own reaction to the rainy race summed up the enthusiasm surrounding F1's return. Despite being drenched by the heavy rain, Anwar said he was excited and that the entire country was rejoicing.
Bahrain-Malaysia Ties Helped Bring F1 Back To Sepang
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/01d410f0cb6c0b5955bc0cb4a057b06466dd41b0dd8e43beb22e67a36224ca75" />
Malaysia's opportunity to host the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix was also supported by the close relationship between Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim and Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Anwar said the relationship helped pave the way for Malaysia to be selected as the replacement host and described the decision as a reflection of the international community's confidence in Malaysia.
He also expressed hope that the cooperation between Malaysia and Bahrain would strengthen bilateral ties and create further opportunities that benefit both countries.
Will Formula 1 Return To Malaysia Permanently?
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/73ac8a0c586daf07fcf8c58dd82d16846cfa9250720709fc399ec3b0d9b87059" />
For now, there is no confirmed date for Malaysia's permanent return to the F1 calendar.
The successful 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix has nevertheless reopened the conversation, with the government now expected to assess the financial requirements, available calendar slots and potential economic benefits.
Malaysia previously hosted the Malaysian Grand Prix every year from 1999 to 2017, making Sepang one of F1's established venues before rising costs and diminishing returns led to its departure from the calendar.
With fans once again filling the grandstands at Sepang, the appetite for a Malaysian Grand Prix clearly remains. Whether that enthusiasm can justify an annual commitment of at least RM300 million, however, will ultimately be the key question for the government and Formula 1.

Malaysia Considers F1 Return To Sepang, But RM300 Million Annual Cost Remains A Major Hurdle

Fujifilm has introduced the Instax Pal 2, a redesigned compact digital camera that brings a more traditional film-camera experience to its popular Instax ecosystem.
Unlike conventional Instax cameras, the Instax Pal 2 does not print photos directly. Instead, it captures digital images that can be transferred to a smartphone, stored on a memory card or sent to compatible Instax printers and hybrid cameras for physical prints.
For Malaysian consumers, the new camera is now starting to appear at local retailers, with Shashinki listing the Fujifilm Instax Pal 2 at RM899. This makes it considerably more expensive than the original Instax Pal, which launched in Malaysia at RM499.
The higher price comes with a significant redesign and upgraded features, including a 10-megapixel sensor, optical viewfinder, top-mounted display, physical controls and USB-C connectivity.
A Completely Redesigned Instax Pal
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/c305d9a2448908742d4fbbb65de78d084fcf789d5714c8b20e4fb2b880580e42" />
First introduced in 2023, the original Instax Pal took a different approach to instant photography by separating the camera from the printer. Without the need to accommodate film and printing hardware, Fujifilm was able to make the camera extremely compact.
The Instax Pal 2 retains this concept but completely changes the camera itself.
Measuring 37 x 42 x 92mm, the new model adopts a horizontal, miniature film-camera-inspired design. Its rounded predecessor has been replaced by a more conventional body with a semi-matte finish, optical viewfinder, top-mounted colour display, control dial and mechanical lever.
10MP Sensor And Creative Features
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/b7c404f0d1b0c340160e73e23d0c668bc159ebe51c36dc9f29b0a5ca19fcfb9d" />
The Instax Pal 2 features a 1/3.06-inch CMOS sensor capable of capturing 10-megapixel images, double the 5-megapixel resolution of the original model. It also has an f/2.2 lens, autofocus, face detection, automatic white balance and an LED flash.
Users can frame shots through the optical viewfinder, review images on the top-mounted display and use the control dial to switch between filters and effects.
The camera supports several shooting formats, including Instax Mini, Instax Square and Instax Wide, as well as a frameless 4:3 option.
30 Filters And Flipbook-Style Animations
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/bf1d56a10b3c93fc504ff8fdd685b12de4a5ae794403fde6560c29ff20e634f8" />
The Instax Pal 2 comes with 30 creative effects across five themes: Modern, Y2K, Vintage, Chromatic and Fantasy.
Six effects can be downloaded to the camera at a time through the Instax Pal app, while the physical dial lets users switch between them while shooting.
The camera also introduces Instax Animation mode, which captures up to 10 consecutive frames and combines them into a short, flipbook-style animation.
Through the app, users can further edit their photographs with filters, text and stickers before sharing them on social media.
Transfer Photos Directly To Your Phone
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/7aa60e98f4b30240e91b04d04602e27bd93e9d5714cdfb82792cf47725752bf0" />
The Instax Pal 2 includes Bluetooth 5.1 for wireless transfers through the Instax Pal app, while one of its biggest upgrades is a built-in USB-C connector for direct smartphone transfers.
Fujifilm says wired transfers can move individual images in around 0.7 seconds while retaining the full resolution of up to 3776 x 2832 pixels.
The camera has built-in storage for around 100 photos, double the original Pal's capacity. A microSD card can also be used for additional storage.
The Instax Pal 2 Does Not Print By Itself
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/39c26ec45a4e0153371d4b5d63b631fdbd38ea302b2e6a197334c8561fb1bf19" />
Despite its Instax branding, the Instax Pal 2 does not have a built-in printer. Users can keep their photographs digitally or send them to compatible Fujifilm devices for physical prints.
The camera works with Instax Link smartphone printers and compatible hybrid cameras such as the Instax Mini Evo, Instax Wide Evo and Instax Mini LiPlay.
Fujifilm Instax Pal 2 Malaysia Price And Availability
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/95708fa0f7e9a5f64be0b070bd5f2787a89724d3e65172d34e2a450d89d3d1f4" />
The Fujifilm Instax Pal 2 is currently listed by <a href="https://shashinki.com/shop/?keywords=FUJIFILM+instax+Pal+2+Digital+Camera">Shashinki</a> at RM899 in Malaysia.
That is a notable increase from the original Instax Pal's RM499 local launch price. Internationally, the new camera is priced at US$169.95, equivalent to roughly RM710&ndash;RM720 depending on exchange rates, before local taxes and retail costs.
N4 Camera has also announced plans to bring the camera to Malaysia, with more local retailers expected to list it as availability expands. The Instax Pal 2 is available in black and white.
Is The Instax Pal 2 Worth RM899?
The Instax Pal 2 arrives as interest in compact digital cameras and retro photography continues to grow, particularly among younger users looking for something different from smartphone photography.
Rather than competing with smartphones on image quality, the camera focuses on its physical controls, nostalgic design, creative effects and the experience of taking photographs. For Malaysian buyers, the RM899 price will be an important consideration, especially when smartphones and entry-level compact cameras offer more advanced imaging hardware.
However, for those looking for a fun, portable camera with a retro aesthetic and the option to turn digital photographs into Instax prints, the Instax Pal 2 offers a different way to enjoy photography.

Fujifilm Instax Pal 2 Launches In Malaysia At RM899 With A Retro Redesign

After more than a decade away, Sleeping With Sirens are finally returning to Malaysia.
The American post-hardcore and rock band will bring their An Ending In Itself Tour Asia 2027 to Kuala Lumpur on 15 April 2027, performing at Zepp KL.
For fans who grew up with post-hardcore anthems, emotional lyrics and the unmistakable high-pitched vocals of frontman Kellin Quinn, the announcement marks a long-awaited homecoming. Sleeping With Sirens last performed in Malaysia on 17 February 2013, when they played at Chin Woo Stadium in Kuala Lumpur alongside fellow post-hardcore favourites Pierce The Veil.
Now, 14 years later, the band are returning with a new album, a new chapter in their career and plenty of songs that have remained staples among their longtime fans.
Who Are Sleeping With Sirens?

Formed in Orlando, Florida, in 2009, Sleeping With Sirens quickly established themselves as one of the recognisable names in the post-hardcore and alternative rock scene.
The band are particularly known for Kellin Quinn's distinctive vocals, which became one of their defining characteristics as they built a dedicated following throughout the 2010s.
Their discography spans nearly two decades, with the band releasing their debut album With Ears To See And Eyes To Hear in 2010 before following it with albums including Let's Cheers To This, Feel, Madness and Gossip.

Among their most recognisable songs are &ldquo;If You Can&rsquo;t Hang&rdquo;, &ldquo;Kick Me&rdquo;, &ldquo;If I&rsquo;m James Dean, You&rsquo;re Audrey Hepburn&rdquo;, &ldquo;Apathetic&rdquo; and &ldquo;Roger Rabbit&rdquo;.
For many fans who grew up during the peak of the 2010s emo and post-hardcore scene, these songs became more than just tracks on a playlist. They were part of the soundtrack to their teenage years, with lyrics about heartbreak, relationships, insecurity, resilience and finding your place often resonating with a generation of listeners.
The band's influence has also found a new audience through social media, particularly TikTok, where older post-hardcore and emo songs have experienced renewed interest among younger listeners.
Their 2012 collaboration with Pierce The Veil, &ldquo;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icXUkIfZxyg">King For A Day</a>&rdquo;, has also remained one of the most enduring songs associated with the era. The track brought together Quinn and Pierce The Veil frontman Vic Fuentes and became a defining anthem for fans of the scene.

Sleeping With Sirens Is Coming To Kuala Lumpur After 14 Long Years!

When financial difficulties pushed his company into a deficit, entrepreneur Ade Azhar Ismail found himself with just RM33 left in his savings account.
Rather than give up, he returned to his roots by selling nasi lemak from the boot of his car in Seksyen 9, Shah Alam.
Ade, who has spent almost 16 years as an entrepreneur and previously earned a five-figure income as the CEO of his own distribution company, admitted that returning to roadside selling was not an easy decision.
However, what started as a way to generate an income during a difficult period eventually grew into a new business venture, earning RM9,000 in profit in its first month.
From A 60-Person Team To Just 14 Employees
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/cf92a83a942ce74a504298cf652ac29d98be7cd1b0834263d46c441f42918413" />
According to Harian Metro, Ade has never worked a salaried job, having started his business journey through direct selling by selling toys.
In 2009, he became the CEO of his own company, which distributed products including air fresheners, storybooks, children's books, educational reading materials and books on the life of the Prophet.
At its peak, the company had around 60 employees. However, its sales team gradually shrank, with Ade saying only 14 employees remain. Many of those who left were Gen Z workers who were no longer interested in direct selling.
The loss of his sales team, along with several business partners leaving, affected the company's operations and contributed to it running at a deficit from the middle of last year.
Despite the difficulties, the company remains operational. Ade decided not to draw a CEO's salary and instead started selling nasi lemak, using the proceeds as his income while putting the remainder towards the company.
He Initially Felt Embarrassed Selling By The Roadside
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/b7ec3f45c98ecc6c42285cd1b169c7d6e8549bc666154f85287c920a1fe20e0e" />
Returning to street trading was not easy for someone who had spent years running a company.
Ade admitted that he initially felt embarrassed about facing his siblings, relatives and employees while selling nasi lemak from his car boot.
However, he eventually put those feelings aside after remembering that his own business journey had started with direct selling. Friends and fellow business owners also supported him by visiting his selling spot and buying nasi lemak.
Ade said his family was initially unaware of the difficulties he was experiencing. His wife only found out about his new venture on the 15th day.
Since he sourced the nasi lemak from a distant relative rather than preparing it himself, she did not realise that he had started selling food by the roadside.
Started With Just 30 Packets
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/68932fc7fbd98fde9bd69359473fda02724b295f6ccf631d152f2de14866efb4" />
Ade's first day began with just 30 packets of nasi lemak.
He recalled feeling discouraged and even like a &ldquo;loser&rdquo; before starting, but his confidence grew once customers began buying. By the end of the day, all 30 packets had been sold.
Encouraged by the response, he continued with the business. A video of him selling nasi lemak later went viral on social media, bringing more attention to his venture.
Ade said his first month's profit reached RM9,000. By his 53rd day of selling, he had started recruiting workers and expanded the car-boot business to five additional locations.
Now Selling Up To 1,200 Packets A Day
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/c5e76c6739f906f07afa74a89acbceb97bb75ff486044155d6b618a30926b2ca" />
By the 81st day, Ade and his team were selling as many as 1,200 packets of nasi lemak a day.
The business operates in two shifts, with the first beginning at 8.30am and the second starting at 5pm and continuing until the nasi lemak is sold out.
Roadside trading comes with challenges, from unpredictable weather to keeping up with growing demand. Despite this, Ade said they had sold out every day from the first day through to his 81st day.
Although the work is tiring, he said he enjoys meeting customers, including those who travel from far away to support his business.
&ldquo;Let Go Of Embarrassment And Ego&rdquo;
Ade sees the experience as an opportunity to reflect on his past mistakes and make improvements.
For others facing financial or business difficulties, he advised them not to let embarrassment or pride stop them from finding a way forward.
&ldquo;Let go of embarrassment and ego. Find a way out of your problems,&rdquo; he said.
Ade also encouraged people to make use of whatever experience and resources they already have instead of being afraid to start again.
&ldquo;Don't be afraid to start and, God willing, we can rise again and rebuild what we once worked for, even if we have to start from the bottom,&rdquo; he said.

From RM33 In Savings To RM9,000 Profit: Former CEO Turns To Nasi Lemak To Rebuild His Business

Few Malaysian food brands have built the kind of hype surrounding Khairul Aming&rsquo;s products. Whenever a new product drops, fans often rush to get their hands on it before it inevitably sells out within minutes.
But with that popularity comes another familiar problem: scalpers.
The issue recently resurfaced on Threads after a user questioned why Sambal Nyet Bilis was being resold for significantly higher prices, prompting Khairul Aming himself to respond.
Khairul Aming&rsquo;s Products Often Sell Out In Minutes
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/a5475ababdcaadbb3fea6907b16d41d25b25e18009443315673fa70a35cc4f61" />
Khairul Aming has built a reputation for creating products that generate huge demand even before they officially launch.
His latest Sambal Nyet Bilis, for example, reportedly sold out in under two minutes after being released on TikTok. A subsequent restock of 150,000 bottles on Shopee also sold out within minutes.
With demand consistently outstripping supply, it is perhaps unsurprising that some buyers have turned to resellers &mdash; and some resellers have taken advantage of the situation by charging more. Beyond the products themselves, Khairul Aming&rsquo;s launches have also become popular for the experiences and giveaways that come with them.

His previous campaigns have included opportunities for customers to win trips, including a New Zealand holiday, while his latest initiatives have teased another potential getaway to Italy. These giveaways have added another layer of excitement around his product launches, encouraging even more people to participate.
But the popularity of the products has also brought one major headache: scalpers.
Sambal Nyet Allegedly Being Resold For RM25
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/159735b4cb840b1d7511335131de168a1a121b96b341b35f6080a5d51cd01899" />
A recent Threads post highlighted the issue after a user claimed that Sambal Nyet Bilis, originally sold for around RM15.90 per bottle, was being resold for as much as RM25.
The user questioned whether Khairul Aming was aware of the situation or simply chose not to address it. They acknowledged that scalpers will always exist when demand is high, but argued that the situation had gone too far.
The complaint eventually caught Khairul Aming&rsquo;s attention, leading him to explain why dealing with resellers is not as straightforward as some may think.
&ldquo;Takkan Saya Nak Pergi Ketuk Pintu Rumah Dia?&rdquo;
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/15551439725eb41684c03547e85c0280ba3c5837b0bfb64bd34129ea30d8db49" />
Rather than ignoring the criticism, Khairul Aming responded directly and pointed out the practical limitation faced by any business once a product has already been purchased.
&ldquo;Sambal tu dah kat tangan dia, apa saya boleh buat. Takkan saya nak pergi ketuk pintu rumah dia. Saya pun tak kenal pun siapa yang jual balik tu.&rdquo;
He also said he hoped people would understand that he could not control everything that happened once the product had left his hands.
According to the entrepreneur, his response to the criticism was particularly frustrating because it appeared to suggest that he was deliberately allowing scalpers to resell his products at inflated prices.
He stressed that his team was already working hard to produce enough products to meet demand.
He&rsquo;s Open To Solutions
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/e60052b3a11278d0fdbf0d04f8164eacd40a42e56f5f713960e11af495ddee5a" />
Interestingly, Khairul Aming did not simply dismiss the criticism.
Instead, he challenged the commenter to suggest a realistic solution that could potentially be implemented. He essentially offered to consider the idea if there was a practical way to prevent or reduce scalping.
That response was welcomed by some netizens, who felt it was unfair to blame Khairul Aming for something that happens after a customer has already completed a legitimate purchase.
Others pointed out that scalping is not unique to Sambal Nyet, with limited-stock and highly sought-after products regularly being resold at higher prices.
The Scalper Problem Is Bigger Than Sambal Nyet
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/b49111fbc5083ba52746ad1692cbc0e1ee49df468199662f4a281040c4702692" />
At its core, the issue comes down to supply and demand.
When a product sells out almost immediately, there will always be people willing to pay more to get it without waiting for the next restock.
One way to discourage the practice is simply not to buy from scalpers. If resold products remain unsold at inflated prices, there is less incentive for people to purchase large quantities purely for resale.
For Khairul Aming, the challenge is finding the balance between producing enough Sambal Nyet to meet demand while ensuring that his products remain accessible to genuine customers.
For now, the entrepreneur appears to be listening to the criticism &mdash; but as he pointed out, once the sambal is already in someone else&rsquo;s hands, controlling what happens next is another matter entirely.

Khairul Aming Responds To Sambal Nyet Scalpers Selling Bottles For RM25

Some flavours are more than just something we eat. They can bring back memories of school days, family breakfasts, afternoon tea breaks and snacks shared with friends.
That nostalgia is at the heart of Inside Scoop&rsquo;s Lokal Legends 2026, which returns this year with its biggest collection yet. The annual campaign brings together nine familiar Malaysian brands and transforms their signature products into limited-edition ice cream flavours.
Launched in conjunction with Malaysia&rsquo;s National Day celebrations, the campaign celebrates the local brands that have become part of everyday Malaysian life &mdash; this time, with a scoopable twist.
Nine Familiar Brands, Nine New Flavours
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/d2a0f6d6278d5b0bd8c687b427acffab6379a9e203cb31be817b4df2108fa908" />
The 2026 collection features a mix of nostalgic favourites and modern Malaysian icons, with each collaboration drawing inspiration from a recognisable product or flavour:
<ul>
<li>Beryl&rsquo;s Tiramisu Almond Chocolate &ndash; Tiramisu dark chocolate ice cream layered with fudgy chocolate and honey-roasted almonds.</li>
<li>BOH&rsquo;s Teh Tarik &ndash; A Malaysian classic made with BOH tea and condensed milk, swirled with chewy brown sugar mochi. The flavour also pays tribute to BOH&rsquo;s nearly 97 years of tea-making heritage.</li>
<li>Farm Fresh&rsquo;s Pistachio Yoghurt Crunch &ndash; Tangy yoghurt ice cream paired with crunchy pistachio kunafa.</li>
<li>Gardenia&rsquo;s Choc-A-Lot Twiggies &ndash; Milk chocolate ice cream packed with bite-sized pieces of the familiar Gardenia Twiggies Choc-A-Lot.</li>
<li>Mister Potato&rsquo;s Choc Potato Chips N&rsquo; Cream &ndash; Creamy vanilla ice cream with salted caramel and crunchy chocolate-coated Mister Potato chips.</li>
<li>Oriental Kopi&rsquo;s Kaya Butter Toast &ndash; A take on the classic kopitiam breakfast, combining pandan kaya and brown butter ice cream with toast crumbs.</li>
<li>Secret Recipe&rsquo;s Chocolate Indulgence&reg; &ndash; Rich chocolate and creamy custard ice cream layered with chocolate hazelnut sauce and pieces of the iconic Chocolate Indulgence&reg; cake.</li>
<li>Thumbs&rsquo; Peanut Butter Jelly &ndash; Creamy peanut butter ice cream with ribbons of blueberry jam and peanut butter.</li>
<li>ZUS Coffee&rsquo;s Ube Latt&eacute; &ndash; Earthy ube ice cream swirled with chewy mochi bites, inspired by ZUS Coffee&rsquo;s popular Ube series.</li>
</ul>
Together, the nine limited-edition flavours put familiar Malaysian favourites into a completely different form, bringing everything from childhood snacks and kopitiam staples to popular local drinks into a single collection.
From Local Favourites To Ice Cream

Since its introduction in 2024, Lokal Legends has grown into one of Inside Scoop&rsquo;s most anticipated annual campaigns, with fans often guessing which brands will make the next lineup and sharing their wishlists online.
According to Inside Scoop Co-Founder Edmund Tan, the campaign is about celebrating the brands that have become part of the Malaysian experience.
He said the excitement surrounding each year's reveal reflects the strong connection Malaysians have with homegrown brands &mdash; from those they grew up with to those associated with family gatherings and everyday routines.
This year&rsquo;s partners share a similar sentiment, with each bringing a familiar product and story into an entirely different format. Secret Recipe Group CEO Patrick Sim revealed that the Chocolate Indulgence&reg; collaboration went through 13 different versions before arriving at the final recipe.
ZUS Coffee, meanwhile, is bringing its popular Ube flavour into ice cream after receiving an enthusiastic response to its Ube drinks last year.
A Supermarket Full Of Malaysian Nostalgia
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/a820827e6f756a8f4237eae3e1e80dfe327f827c7845af69565830fad72c9d5f" />
For 2026, Inside Scoop has taken the campaign beyond the flavours themselves with a supermarket-inspired concept.
Supermarkets are a familiar part of everyday Malaysian life, bringing together everything from breakfast staples and snacks to drinks and treats. Inside Scoop has recreated that experience through the Lokal Legends Supermarket, bringing all nine collaborations together under one roof.
For the campaign launch, the Inside Scoop outlet at Galeria SA Sentral was transformed into the themed supermarket. Visitors could explore dedicated brand aisles, learn more about the collaborations and sample the new flavours in an interactive setting.
The concept also gives the campaign a nostalgic feel, connecting the ice cream flavours with the products and brands Malaysians might usually find while doing their weekly grocery shopping.
Get All Nine In One Box

For those who want to try the entire collection, Inside Scoop is also offering a 9-Scoop Party Pack, featuring all nine Lokal Legends flavours in one box.
The set comes with an exclusive Lokal Legends Ice Cream Passport and sticker pack, allowing fans to collect and celebrate each of the nine collaborations.
Whether it is a familiar childhood snack, a kopitiam breakfast staple or a favourite modern drink, the collection gives Malaysians a chance to revisit familiar flavours in a completely different form.
Lokal Legends 2026 is now available at participating Inside Scoop outlets nationwide from 10 August 2026, for a limited time.

According to Khairul Aming, the five fastest customers who purchase five bottles of Sambal Nyet Bilis during the product launch will secure a place on the exclusive trip.
The sale will begin during his TikTok Live session on Friday, 7 August 2026, at 9pm, where fans will have the opportunity to purchase the new sambal directly.
However, participants will need to take note of the payment requirements. Only purchases completed through DuitNow or FPX online banking will be eligible for the giveaway.
Payments made through debit cards, credit cards, e-wallets or PayLater services will not qualify for the competition.
The five selected winners will also be able to bring a companion, bringing the total number of travellers to 10 people. Khairul Aming confirmed that the entire trip will be fully sponsored, subject to the giveaway&rsquo;s terms and conditions.
Fans To Explore Venice, Verona And The Dolomites
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/e08ad64eddfe4a1145c1e397fd32fe2b7175313fb192c8b9c75197a27ed3a508" />
The winners will travel to Italy in October, beginning their journey at Venice Marco Polo Airport.
The group will first spend time exploring Venice before continuing their journey by road to Verona, a historic city known for its cultural landmarks and connection to the famous Romeo and Juliet story.
From there, the trip will continue to its main destination &mdash; the Dolomites mountain range in northeastern Italy.
Known as one of Italy&rsquo;s most beautiful natural attractions, the Dolomites are famous for their dramatic mountain peaks, crystal-clear lakes and stunning landscapes that attract travellers from around the world.
Khairul Aming shared that the itinerary will include various outdoor activities, particularly hiking and exploring the mountainous surroundings.
He also reminded potential winners that the trip will involve plenty of walking and physical activities, encouraging participants to prepare themselves before joining the adventure.
Continuing A Tradition Of Giving Back To Fans
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/fb0092766586284cf8a0c9fafd328e24a8b9ed18dd27dfd32b11583369eaf975" />
This is not the first time Khairul Aming has organised a special travel experience for his supporters.
Last year, he brought five lucky winners from his Rendang Nyet Berapi giveaway on a fully sponsored trip to South Island, New Zealand.
The trip included a variety of unforgettable experiences, including hiking around scenic mountain areas, a helicopter ride to snowy peaks, lakeside picnics, stargazing sessions, a cruise, farm visits and cooking sessions with Khairul Aming himself.
Reflecting on last year&rsquo;s winners, Khairul Aming highlighted that the competition was open to everyone, with winners coming from different backgrounds.
Among them were a dentist, a retired soldier and a student, proving that anyone had a chance of winning regardless of their profession or lifestyle.
The announcement of the Italy trip quickly attracted attention online, with many fans jokingly offering themselves as potential plus ones for anyone who manages to secure a winning spot.
Sambal Nyet Bilis Brings A New Twist To Khairul Aming&rsquo;s Popular Range

Alongside the exciting giveaway, Khairul Aming is also preparing for the launch of Sambal Nyet Bilis, the latest addition to his successful sambal line.
The new product marks another milestone for the entrepreneur after the popularity of his original Sambal Nyet Berapi, which gained a strong following among Malaysian consumers.
Khairul Aming explained that Sambal Nyet Bilis was created to bring back the nostalgic flavours of traditional sambal, inspired by the taste and aroma of sambal commonly prepared by previous generations.
Compared to Sambal Nyet Berapi, the new version features additional ingredients including ikan bilis mata biru, green chilli and belacan, creating a richer and more traditional flavour profile.
He also advised customers not to be surprised by the amount of oil in the sambal, explaining that the product should be mixed thoroughly before consumption to ensure the ingredients are evenly combined.
Sambal Nyet Bilis will be sold at RM15.99 per bottle, with each bottle weighing 180g.
More Than Just A Product Launch
With a new sambal flavour, a TikTok Live launch and the opportunity to travel to Italy with Khairul Aming himself, the Sambal Nyet Bilis launch is expected to attract huge interest from fans.
The giveaway also reflects Khairul Aming&rsquo;s approach of building a strong connection with his audience by creating experiences that go beyond traditional brand promotions.
For lucky buyers, purchasing five bottles of sambal could potentially turn into a once-in-a-lifetime journey through one of Europe&rsquo;s most scenic destinations &mdash; alongside one of Malaysia&rsquo;s most recognisable entrepreneurs.

Since launching the original Sambal Nyet Berapi in 2021, Khairul Aming has built one of Malaysia's most successful local food brands. The range later expanded with Dendeng Nyet Berapi and Rendang Nyet Berapi, but fans have been waiting six years for an entirely new sambal.
Now, that wait is over.
According to Khairul, Sambal Nyet Bilis offers a completely different flavour from its predecessor, featuring a richer recipe with more ingredients and a spicier, more aromatic taste.
Unlike the original Sambal Nyet Berapi, which relies heavily on red chillies, the new recipe uses 75% green chillies and 25% red chillies, creating a gentler yet more fragrant heat while maintaining its signature kick.
Fresh anchovies are the star ingredient, complemented by tomatoes, kaffir lime leaves and belacan to produce a sambal inspired by traditional Malaysian flavours.
Personally Sourcing Ingredients Across Malaysia

One of the highlights of the launch was Khairul Aming documenting his journey across Malaysia to source the best local ingredients personally.
Rather than simply purchasing raw materials, he travelled to Setiu, Terengganu, where he joined local fishermen out at sea to witness first-hand the demanding process of catching fresh anchovies. He explained that the experience gave him a greater appreciation for the hard work involved in producing what many Malaysians often consider an everyday ingredient.
He also visited chilli farms in Banting, Selangor, learning directly from local farmers about cultivating high-quality chillies before selecting those best suited for the new sambal recipe.
The approach reflects Khairul's continued emphasis on working closely with Malaysian suppliers while highlighting the people behind the country's food industry.
100% Malaysian From Farm To Factory

Khairul also revealed that every stage of production remains entirely local.
After sourcing ingredients from around the country, Sambal Nyet Bilis is produced at RASAPOP's manufacturing facilities in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, where all processes&mdash;including quality control, cooking, bottling, packaging and distribution&mdash;take place under one roof.
The company now operates three factories capable of producing more than 12,000 bottles daily, while providing employment for around 100 local workers.
Describing the product, Khairul said it is:
"Inspired by local flavours, made using local ingredients, produced by local people for the world to enjoy."

Khairul Aming has described the upcoming release as the largest product launch since he started his business.
The first sales batch will consist of 125,000 bottles, all of which will be released during a special TikTok LIVE session on:

<li>Time: 9.00pm</li>
<li>Platform: Khairul Aming's TikTok LIVE</li>
</ul>
Pricing has yet to be announced, with further details expected before launch day.
Given the overwhelming response to previous Nyet products, many fans are expecting the new sambal to sell out quickly.
Building On Six Years Of Success
Khairul Aming first became a household name through his cooking videos, particularly his annual "30 Hari 30 Resepi" Ramadan series, before successfully turning his popularity into one of Malaysia's fastest-growing food brands.
His original Sambal Nyet Berapi went on to sell millions of bottles, making it one of the country's most recognisable locally developed food products.
With Sambal Nyet Bilis introducing a fresh flavour profile while maintaining the brand's commitment to Malaysian ingredients and manufacturing, Khairul hopes to offer fans something new while continuing to support local communities across the supply chain.
Those hoping to be among the first to try the latest addition to the Nyet family should mark 7 August on their calendars, when 125,000 bottles go on sale during Khairul Aming's TikTok LIVE launch.
