We all know that everyone&rsquo;s been buzzing over non-fungible tokens (NFT&rsquo;s) lately and some people have really profited in as they invested in it.
Now, Malaysian rapper Namewee has turned into an overnight millionaire after releasing his song Fragile as a NFT. Within the first three hours of the launch, the song had earned him 209 ETH which is worth around RM4 Million.

The song is a collaboration between Namewee and Australian singer Kimberly Chen. Ironically, even though the song is a hit to many with 27.3 million views on YouTube at the time of writing this article, China had banned both Wee and Chen&rsquo;s Weibo accounts and removed the song as it was deemed insulting to the Chinese.
Singapore portal Today had reported that the song has also been banned due to it containing jabs towards Chinese president Xi Jinping and the fact that the song touches on sensitive topics such as censorship, cancel culture, Uighurs, and Covid-19.
A specific line mentions a love for &ldquo;dogs, cats, bats and civets&rdquo; which apparently alludes to the pandemic, and another which goes, &ldquo;It&rsquo;s illegal to breach the firewall, you&rsquo;ll be missed if the Pooh discovers it,&rdquo; is a dig at the Chinese leader who has been likened to Winnie the Pooh by social media.
Currently, most of the views are currently from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Malaysia.

Namewee took to his Facebook page stating that he released the NFT on the platform OpenSea and there were only 99 available.
&ldquo;I am overwhelmed at becoming a millionaire overnight&rdquo; he said as his NFT&rsquo;s were all sold out within 3 hours.

According to him, he produced a song called Go NFT and had deleted all the related original musical documents to make it unique compared to other items in the NFT world.

One thing to note is that Namewee promised to not convert his virtual currency into real money no matter how much he earns. For fans of Namewee, you can mark your calendars down as he&rsquo;ll be releasing more NFTs on 12 November 2021.
