Step 1: Register with SSM (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia). You need nothing more than 2 hours to do this.
What You'll Need: 1. Business Registration Form (Form A), 2. Photocopy of NRIC, 3. Permit/Supporting letters (if any), 4. Required Payment.

Your Business Registration Certificate should be ready within an hour of payment.
Step 2: Open a Business Bank Account
Don't mix work with personal. A business banking account is crucial especially if you have a business partner(s); you don't want your business partners sticking their hands into your personal cookie jar do you?
Step 3: Register Business with SOCSO
It is a LEGAL REQUIREMENT. You'd definitely want to be protected, as well as staffs under you, from any work-related injuries. You will need to fill up the following forms:
Step 4: Register for Tax File with LHDN (Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri)
There's one at Menara Hasil, Damansara Perdana. This is another LEGAL REQUIREMENT and you'll have to submit two (2) copies of Business Registration Certificate along with the LHDN registration forms. You can choose to do this physically at the LHDN office or online: https://ez.hasil.gov.my/CI/
Step 5: Register with EPF (Employees' Provident Fund)
Upon hiring your first employee, you'll have to register your business & employee within seven (7) days.
What You'll Need: 1. KWSP Form 1, 2. Documents issued by SSM.
Submit it with your Business Registration Certificate to the nearesr EPF office... NOTE: the one at Jalan Gasing is probably still out of commission since the fire.
Step 6: Register with HRDF (Human Resources Development Fund) , depending on the industry that your company is operating in.
As stated in PSMB Acts 2001, HRDF will enable employees access to trainings that can further develop their skills at work; and also to apply for a training grant, which can be used to subsidise training costs for employees.
