The borders between Malaysia and Singapore and now open and it was no surprise that many had flocked to travel between he two countries as there&rsquo;s no longer a Covid-19 restriction between the two.
If it&rsquo;s one thing to look forward, it&rsquo;s road trips where you can drive through the countryside and enjoy the most that each state can offer.
A Singaporean TikToker <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@sgpikarchu">@sgpikarchu</a> had made several videos sharing the experience of travelling from down south to up north in Penang using a Tesla. Yes, the fully electric vehicle by Elon Musk. They had showed off the autopilot feature in the Tesla Model 3 and it made travelling a breeze.
The initial queue to cross the borders into Malaysia only took 45 minutes and the couple had went on with their journey.

For those who haven&rsquo;t done a road trip around Malaysia, the drive from Singapore to Penang will lead road users to drive through 6 states which are Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Wilayah Persekutuan and Perak (in order). They had also showed that while making this journey, they had utilized different EV charging stations along the way.
During their down time to charge the car, the couple had caught up with a friend and had a meal together before making their way up north.

Since Malaysians are relatively new to Electric Vehicles and that we are not fully convinced on using them yet, the website PlugShare helps to show you charging stations across the country. And to some people&rsquo;s surprise, there s quite a number of electric charging stations available.

That&rsquo;s actually quite a lot of stations. Travelling up north sounds like a breeze now since we won&rsquo;t need to worry too much about finding a spot to charge the car.
One thing to note is that when travelling to rural areas, it&rsquo;s best to call up the station in advance and check if the charger is working so you won&rsquo;t get stranded during your trip.
How much is it to charge your vehicle?

Unlike petrol, the price of charging your car would differ from station to station.
If you&rsquo;re charging with Shell Recharge EV, they offer three different rate, but this is also depends if you have a subscription.

Meanwhile, JomCharge offers RM1.20 per minute for charging.
Netizens had also shared that if they were to purchase an EV vehicle, they will feel stress if the battery runs low.

SGpikarchu had respond that during pre-pandemic times, it was fairly difficult to get hold of charging stations but now, it&rsquo;s much easier as there are more chargers located in Malaysia.
The only downside of EV vehicles is the charging time as a car would require roughly 30 minutes to go from 20% to 80% and you&rsquo;ll get a rough range of 354KM if you have the standard range model of the Tesla. If you opted for the Standard Range Plus, you&rsquo;ll get around 568KM per charge.
I don&rsquo;t mind switching to EV vehicles honestly, plus if there was more of the vehicles in the city, it would cause less pollution.
But my main concern would likely be on how does the car handle our Malaysian traffic jams as it can be brutal. During the festive seasons, you can commonly see crawls around the Karak Highway which can last up to 3-4 hours if you&rsquo;re lucky. And don&rsquo;t get me started about the 16 hour drive back to Kelantan during Hari Raya, I don&rsquo;t think any of us want to have a break down while driving that route back.
But with the video put up by SGpikarchu, you can clearly see that the future of driving around Malaysia in an EV car is coming and hopefully it will kick up more soon enough. Now the question is, can we have enough stations to charge our cars with the crowd that we get when travelling?

Crucially, PERKESO confirmed her eligibility despite the accident occurring while dropping her child at school and not yet being at her workplace. As it was part of her regular route to work, it counted as a valid commuting injury under PERKESO guidelines.
PERKESO then contacted her to verify her story. When asked why she didn&rsquo;t use public transport, she explained that as a single mother living in Bukit Damansara, owning a car was a necessity due to poor public transport access in her area.
Her claim was approved just four days after submitting the required documents.
Quick and Efficient Processing

Importantly, she reminded others that all claims must be submitted within three months of the incident. Claims made after that period will not be entertained, regardless of the reason.

Recently, ZUS Coffee officially launched its brand-new &ldquo;ZUS Tea Series&rdquo;, diversifying its previously coffee-dominated menu to tap into Malaysia&rsquo;s booming milk tea craze. The new range features three flavours &ndash; Dark Oolong Milk Tea, Jasmine Milk Tea, and White Peach Oolong Milk Tea &ndash; each available hot or iced.
