The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) is expected to declare a dividend of more than 5.8% for conventional savings in 2024, exceeding the 5.5% announced in 2023. "Whatever the case, it will definitely be much higher than last year," the source stated. In previous years, EPF's dividend announcements have been made between late February and early March. In 2023, it was declared on 4 March, while in 2022, the announcement came on 11 March.

Dusun Tua assemblyman Datuk Johan Abd Aziz explained that the issue had already been raised during Hulu Langat District Action Council meetings since last year. According to him, multiple enforcement operations had already taken place, but the main obstacle lies with landowners who allegedly permitted foreigners to occupy the land and construct buildings while also facilitating access to water and electricity.
He stressed that enforcement should not focus solely on the residents but also on those who enabled the settlement to exist in the first place. Based on information shared by authorities, around 400 Rohingya individuals are believed to have established a settlement in the area.

Police have since indicated that the site is currently believed to house both the property owner&rsquo;s family and local tenants, although investigations into the overall legality of the structure and land use remain ongoing.

According to court documents, money was first transferred from Chan&rsquo;s housing loan account into her savings account before being moved in stages to several third-party accounts belonging to unknown individuals.
Chan only discovered the transactions nearly two weeks later, on 15 July 2021, after checking her Maybank2u account. She later lodged a police report over the incident.
Victim Denied Authorising Transfers

The bank also claimed that TAC messages and transaction alerts had been successfully sent to her registered mobile number, while maintaining there were no issues with the Maybank2u system.
In its defence, the bank further suggested that Chan&rsquo;s banking information may have been exposed due to negligence on her part.

&ldquo;The bank should remain vigilant,&rdquo; the judge stated in her grounds of judgment.
She added that banks today possess advanced technology capable of detecting and preventing suspicious or fraudulent transactions.
The court further heard that several mule account holders connected to the transfers had already pleaded guilty in separate criminal cases involving concealment of stolen property and possession of stolen items.
